Guyana Matrimony ("Platform", "we", "our", or "us") operated by Guyana Matrimony Inc., respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use our website, mobile application, or services (collectively the "Services").

By registering, accessing, or using Guyana Matrimony, you consent to the practices described herein and acknowledge that Guyana Matrimony acts strictly as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

If you disagree with any clause, please discontinue using the Platform.

3Information We Collect

MANDATORY VERIFIED BADGE – DATA COLLECTION AND CONSENT

As part of Guyana Matrimony's mandatory Verified Badge programme, the Platform collects and processes identity and verification-related information including Aadhaar number (in masked or tokenised form only), selfie/photograph, facial verification or liveness outputs, and location data.

Completion of verification is mandatory for accessing Guyana Matrimony's core matrimonial services. Users who do not complete verification may be restricted from or denied access to Platform features.

Such data is collected strictly for identity verification, fraud prevention, platform safety, regulatory compliance, and protection of users.

By registering on the Platform and continuing to use Guyana Matrimony, the user expressly, voluntarily, and unequivocally consents to such collection, storage, processing, and verification.

Verification data may be processed by authorised third-party service providers bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. Guyana Matrimony shall not be responsible for inaccuracies originating from user-provided data or third-party verification systems.

All verification-related processing is carried out in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian laws.

Guyana Matrimony collects information in three primary categories:

A. Information Provided by Users

When you register, create, or update your profile, you voluntarily provide:

  • Name, gender, date of birth, and marital status
  • Contact information (email, phone number)
  • Educational, occupational, and family details
  • Religion, community, and partner preferences
  • Profile photos, videos, and biodata
  • Payment details for premium memberships (processed securely via third-party gateways)
  • Government-issued ID (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.) for KYC verification
  • Geo location for geo tagging
  • Location and selfie for verification of liveness
  • Communications or feedback sent to customer support

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you interact with Guyana Matrimony, we automatically collect:

  • Device information (model, OS, IP address, browser type, language, app version & location)
  • Log data (login times, usage patterns, clickstream, activity timestamps)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (session identifiers, preferences)
  • Geo-location (if consented) for personalized services

C. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from:

  • Identity verification and fraud-prevention partners
  • Payment processors and financial institutions
  • Social login providers (Google, Facebook, Apple) — only with your permission
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities (when legally required)

4Purpose of Data Processing

We process your data lawfully and fairly for the following purposes:

  1. To create and manage your Guyana Matrimony profile and membership.
  2. To provide matchmaking recommendations using AI-based algorithms.
  3. To verify identity, prevent fraud, and ensure platform integrity.
  4. To improve our website, mobile app, and user experience.
  5. To communicate important updates, service alerts, or promotional offers (if opted-in).
  6. To comply with legal obligations, audits, and law enforcement requests.

We never sell, trade, or rent user data.

11User Rights

Users have the following rights under applicable laws:

  1. Right to Access: Obtain a copy of data we hold about you.
  2. Right to Correction: Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  3. Right to Deletion (Right to Be Forgotten): Request deletion of your account and related data.
  4. Right to Withdraw Consent: Stop us from processing your data anytime.
  5. Right to Portability: Receive your personal data in a portable format (where applicable).
  6. Right to Restrict Processing: Object to use of your data for direct marketing or analytics.

Requests may be submitted to the Grievance Officer; responses shall be provided within statutory timelines.

12Children and Age-Restricted Use

Guyana Matrimony is intended exclusively for users aged 18 (female) and 21 (male) or above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Any underage account will be immediately suspended and reported to authorities.

14No-Liability Disclaimer

Guyana Matrimony, Guyana Matrimony Inc., its directors, officers, and employees bear zero (zero) liability for:

  • any unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure caused by third-party actions,
  • user negligence, or
  • force majeure events beyond reasonable control.

The Platform functions as a lawful intermediary and assumes no liability for data posted voluntarily by users.

15Updates to Privacy Policy

Guyana Matrimony may amend this Policy periodically to reflect legal or operational updates. Users will be notified through in-app alerts or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

16Grievance Redressal Mechanism

As required under the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and DPDP Act 2023:
